
Program Overview
ASCEND – AEROO Satellite Challenge for Empowering Next-Gen Developers is a premier national satellite design and innovation competition. It brings together STEM, Design Thinking, and Entrepreneurship to inspire and prepare the next generation of youth passionate
about space and innovation.
ASCEND serves as the of ficial national qualifier for the International Finale in Kazakhstan. National champion will earn the opportunity to represent their country at International Space Day 2026 in Kazakhstan, where they will build and launch their developed satellites with full sponsorship provided (T&Cs apply).
Eligibility

Students aged 14 - 17 (as of March 7, 2026)

Teams must consist of 4 members.
*Note: Teams with members who do not meet the age requirements are still welcome to participate in ASCEND. However, they will be ineligible for selection as the national champion to compete in the International Grand Finale in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Optional Add-on – CubeSat Kit
A CubeSat prototyping kit including microcontroller, breadboard, sensors, wiring set, and basic power module. Schools or participants may use their own lab equipment if it provides equivalent functionality.
Availability: Optional for all teams in the first round.
Requirement: Only national champions are required to purchase the kit to prepare for the international round in Kazakhstan.
