INTERNATIONAL DEBATE TEAM SELECTIONS 2018

 

Are you interested in competitive debating, and eager to pit your skills against debaters across the globe? Are you eager to receive quality training by experienced coaches? The Global Citizen Vietnam is proud to hold the International Debate Team Selections 2018! 30 talented students will be chosen to be a part of Team Vietnam Debate in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. 

 
Team Vietnam Debate


Team Vietnam Debate consists of some of the best student debaters in Vietnam. Students in this team will undergo special training sessions with The Global Citizen’s internationally recognised coaches. Students on the team are given the opportunity to participate in prestigious international debating tournaments throughout the year. The team is open to students aged between 14-19 (as of 2019).

Who will be selecting? 


The selection panels consist of experienced coaches who were former debaters themselves.

 

1. Ho Chi Minh City:

  • Samuel Wittberger (Chief Selector, Team Manager and Head Coach of Team Vietnam Debate 2018-2019)

  • Perry Ge

  • Nguyen Minh Thu

 

2. Hanoi:

  • Samuel Teo (Chief Selector, Coach of Team Vietnam Debate 2019)

  • Walter Yeo (Team Manager and Coach of Team Vietnam Debate, 2017-2018)

  • Nguyen Ngoc Tu Uyen

 

Details of selections are as follows:


1. Ho Chi Minh City:

  • Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Date: 20 - 21 October 2018 (students will be emailed their timeslot once registration ends, and will only need to turn up on either Saturday or Sunday)

2. Hanoi:

  • Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Date: 20 - 21 October 2018 (students will be emailed their timeslot once registration ends, and will only need to turn up on either Saturday or Sunday)

Eligibility:  


Secondary Students & High School Students aged between 14 to 19. Students should either be Vietnamese by nationality, or, be enrolled in a Vietnamese school.
